When poison fills the porches of the ear

And corrupts the mind with a loss of trust

That can never be regained

Grievous doubt persists

And chills the heart

Love is a fantasy that cannot be stained

With reality

Waking up to hunger

The spur that sets the animals

To their games

An autumn leaf floating

And spinning in the chilling air

Tumbling to oblivion

Numb with the cold

Forgetting it is a leaf

Forgetting it is tumbling

Forgetting the oblivion

While the sun descends below the horizon.

In a hundred billion years

All, perhaps, is forgotten

But the eye of the bird

Caught and held you now

As you stood looking

Besos perdidos

Aunque puedo ver mi amor

Ella está muy lejos

En un país lejano no se
Los pájaros vuelan

Pero los besos se pierden

The nervous watchful

Eye of the bird

Scanning for food

For foe--

The bird seeks its own

When you reach out

A hand in solidarity

It flies away

Jet trails

The smoke of where

You have been

Illuminated by the evening sun

Before the smoke

Dissipates among the clouds
